In this week's entry we are going to talk about The PDP Method, which stands for Pre, During, and Post, and this is a straightforward teaching strategy that can help us to create effective lessons.
The Pre phase involves preparation for the lesson. We have to gather all the necessary materials, set clear objectives for what students should learn, and plan how to introduce the topic. Also, we should get students' interest from the start, perhaps by sharing an fact or asking a question related to the topic.
During the lesson, we have to engage students in the learning process; present the material in an understandable way, using simple language and examples; and encourage questions and discussions, making sure students are following along. In this phase, we should vary or mix our teaching methods to fit into to different learning styles, such as visual aids, group activities, or hands-on demonstrations; all of the things that teacher Orlando has previously showed us.
Finally we get to the Post phase in which we assess whether the learning objectives have been met. It involves reviewing key points, summarizing the lesson, and assigning relevant homework or activities for students to reinforce their understanding. It's also an opportunity for us to gather feedback from students, which can be valuable for future lessons.
Teacher Orlando was very kind and provided us a live example of him doing lesson plan focusing on the PDP; the topic was Holistic Medicine. Here you have a video that I recorded when teacher Orlando was making the lesson plan:
I made a joke about teacher Orlando looking as if he was practicing MecaNet in the computer, that is why you hear some laughs in the background.
Have a beautiful day and stay tunned for my next entry.
