Welcome back to my blog!

In today’s entry I am going to talk about our first practices/evaluations as teachers. We had to create groups and prepare a class for our classmates. It was really fun but a bit challenging because I’m not used to work with that much people as a group; usually it is only my three friends and I, or just me, but this time we were eight so I had to make sure that everybody was working in the tasks assigned to them.

We had to wear clothes of the same color in order to look like a team but in the end, it was really funny because all the groups picked the color black. Here you have a video evidencing that everybody was wearing black in the classroom, even the dogs:

First group | Vocabulary related to medical stuff.

They teached us vocabulary tipically used in hospitals or in emergencies.
These are some pictures of the materials that they used for teaching us the vocabulary:

Second Group | The Third Conditional.

The topic of Keneth´s group was The Third Conditional; we use this when we talk about hypothetical or unreal situations in the past. It's often used to express regrets, wishes, or to speculate about how things might have been different if a past event had turned out differently.

They shared with us the general form of the third conditional:

If + Past Perfect (Had + Past Participle), Would Have + Past Participle

Third group (mine) | Vocabulary related to cooking.

Oh lord! My group... Where do I begin? Having to deal with all these guys was not an easy task, but in the end we all did a great job!

I was the one who proposed teaching Cooking Vocabulary because I love cooking, there is no day in which I do not watch a video of Gordom Ramsay, recipies and other stuff related to cooking.

We wanted to teach vocabulary related to cooking but not the traditional one, we wanted to get deeper and teach them some terms that are mostly used for people with a lot of experience in the field of cooking.

We performed two activities, one in which they had to match words to their meanings and connect pictures with the right word. We also performed another one in which they had to create a recipy using the vocabulary that they learned.

Fourth group | The Second Conditional.

Fernando's group prepared a very entertaining session. Their topic was The Second Conditional, which is the one that we use to talk about hypothetical or unreal situations in the present or future. It's often used to express things that are unlikely or contrary to fact.

They shared with us the general form of the second conditional:

If + Past Simple, Would + Base Form of Verb

We were separated into teams, and each team received an envelope containing words. Our task was to transform these words into sentences using the second conditional tense. It was very funny and we had a great time participating.

And that was it! Those were the main points of the presentations and here you have a picture of all the prizes that I won for participating:
Fun fact: I do not like eating chocolate. Hahaha! (I gave them all to my mom because she loves them).

That was all for this week's entry, I hope you liked it.
Take care!
