Welcome back! In today’s entry we are going talk about Suggestopedia.

This is a teaching method that states that the more relaxed/positive you are, the more you will learn. It also mentions that if you listen to music then you can get relaxed, and since you are relaxed you will be able to learn more.

I feel like this is completely true, every time that I am studying or doing homework I HAVE to listen to music, in fact, right now I'm listening to music while writing my blog; but I listen to a specific type of music, I do not listen to my favorite artists because I would get distracted trying to sing, I listen to music from the movies of The Lord Of The Rings or another playlist that I have is called Piano Studio Ghibli Collection. I feel like that kind of music helps me to concentrate and get relaxed. A fun fact is that I also listen to music for sleeping, I listen to this every night, it relaxes me a lot and I fall asleep in minutes.

Teacher Orlando played different kinds of music through our session and he played my favorite Ed Sheeran’s song, which is I See Fire, but he played a remix by Kygo, who is one of my favorite Djs.
Teacher Orlando requested us to make some drawings while he played a song and these are the ones that my classmates and I drew:

Here is a video when we were listening to a video about animals in the farm:

The advantage of this method is that, in fac, music really works for keeping students concentrated, we feel relaxed when we are listening to music, we feel at peace, and that is why we are going to internalize all the information in a better way. Music also keeps the class more “interesting”, however, it might be a distraction for students that are not used to it.

This was my summary of Suggestopedia, if I am missing something, please let me know, I’ll be waiting for your feedback.

See you in my next entry!
